Mechanical Pixel Sculpture
Mechanical pixel sculptures, are custom designed using 3d design software. Components are then fabricated using various methods such as laser cutting and 3d printing. Carpentry skills are also employed in order to fabricate the case and make the pixels.

There are 128 pixels that are activated by a custom written program running on a microcontroller. The pixels are actuated by micro-servos into various artistic patterns which becomes apparent due to the shadowing of the flipped pixel. The pattern remains for the desired time period, such as one hour, and after that hour, will be cleared in a series of pixel movements as shown in the video below. A new image will be rendered and will remain in place for the next hour. The piece can also make more dynamic movements such as "Fluid Waves" as shown in the video below.

Pixel Clock Sculpture
This particular sculpture is approximately 13 inches tall and 33 inches wide and has 140 pixels that are activated by underlying micro-servos controlled by a custom written program running on a microcontroller. The pixels which are manufactured with an angled face are rotated either down (dark) or up (light). Digits and or other designs becomes apparent due to the shadowing or lack there of, of the flipped pixel. The time will update every minute. The sculpture can be programmed to display various designs during its regular routine of displaying the time.
