Putting Practice Laser
The Putting Practice Laser was developed as the result of an avid scratch golfer friend suggesting that having the ability to work on his putting game with exact distances from the pin would be helpful. He further suggested the device should be able to locate various distances from the pin from 6' to 25' at 45 degree offsets. This would provide 8 locations around the hole at any of the desired distances. This 4th generation prototype was finally fabricated to consistently meet those needs.

The custom designed enclosure was fabricated from laser cut and 3d printed parts. The circuit boards were custom designed and fabricated. The unit runs on two 18650 batteries and can be charged via a micro USB charging socket. The unit is about 6" is diameter and about 3" tall. The device is placed on a pole of determined height which is inserted into the base of the cup. Rotation and angle of the laser, which will determine the distance away from the cup, can be changed with a remote control. The laser dot will move to the designated location and then blink, so it can be seen more readily. The laser dot can easily be found on sunny days.
